How to build a wiki

1. Go to wikispaces.com to create an account. Under Join Now you will be asked to supply your user name, password and e-mail address. (Hint: I like to use the same user name and password for each web2.0 tool so I don't have to remember different accounts).
You will then need to check protected next to wiki permissions and check educational use as well. This will allow you to set up a wiki without the bothersome ads.
Click create and you are good to go!

You will have a Getting started screen in front of you. You will be able to find these items in the help sections. For now though, click on the x to get rid of this screen.

You will be left with this screen. Congratulations, you have a wiki!
This isn't your information! You want to add your thoughts so click on the edit button in the top right hand corner. (It is above the tan bar on the top) You are now able to add or change information on any page.

By the way, because you designed this wiki you can edit it but others, even though they can view it, cannot change your content.

Once I make changes is my page I click on save .
This brings to this page. I can't change anything on this page until I click edit again.
Probably your next step would be to explore Manage Wiki. This page will allow you to manuever and control what happens in your wiki from adding contacts, changing the template and finding pages that inadvertantly got deleted. (Yes, you can recover them)
This page gives you a place to find the answers to many of your questions. If you get stuck you can always e-mail the wikispaces people and they will get back to you very quickly.
That's cool!
